Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie, a Constant Craving

The past couple of weeks have been stressful and exhausting to say the least. In the midst of all the chaos that life throws at me, stands one constant. A lone warrior. Unwavering no matter what. Growing stronger with time, almost monster-like.

My constant craving for a chewy chocolate chip cookie!

I am not being dramatic!!! *FLAILS HANDS*

I do not know who gave chocolate chip cookies (CCCookie) the right to be the correct answer to life in general. Happy? CCCookie. Sad? CCCookie. Meh? CCCookie. These are the rules of the world. At least the one I live in! And definitely the one rule at home! Now that the rules have been established, time to talk about the ultimate life hack. Simply make the dough balls ahead of time and freeze them! Crave a cookie. Make a fresh cookie. Win at life!

I stumbled upon the perfect CCCookie recipe in Dessert Person by Claire Saffitz. The recipe calls for brown butter which makes it so delicious! With this recipe you end up with flatter chewy cookies but no matter how many you make, there never seems to be enough.

I do have a confession, however. I prefer far less chocolate chips in my cookie. I also prefer chopping chocolate from a bar instead of using chips. I usually mix in finely chopped walnuts or pecans. You can have fun with the mix ins - pretzels, m&ms, baby marshmallows, nuts, etc. Just have fun with it and chop them finely!

Cookies are tantamount to indulgence and happiness. They possess the power to satiate cravings, bring families together and get your mind churning. Food for thought while you feed your soul next time- How is it that family members, whom I have not seen all day, magically appear when I pull freshly baked cookies out of the oven? Why does no one want to wait for the cookie to cool slightly, inevitably burning their mouths on chewy goodness? Why do the cookies disappear overnight? I am in need for answers, so please let me know!
