lasan chutneys

Lasan (or lasun) means garlic. Dry lasan chutney mixed with ghee is great with dhokla or with plain rice. Wet lasan chutney is typically eaten with vadapav, dosas and all sorts of chaats!

dry lasan chutney

5-7 garlic cloves
1 tbsp raw peanuts
2 tbsp dried coconut, shredded
2 tbsp chili powder
½ tsp salt

  • In a mortar and pestle, first ground the cloves. Then add the peanuts and ground again. Then the coconut. Ground. Then the chilli powder and salt. Ground again. You will not need any water or oil because the peanuts and coconut release enough oils on their own.
